Proposal for Employing a Professional Youth Ministry Director for St. Paul’s
{Part 1} (The next Forward will include more of the proposal for you to ponder.)
Our Youth are not the Church of the future, they are the church of today! The church lay leaders of tomorrow don't just happen, the youth of today must have the education, experiences and exposures now that will help prepare them to lead later.
For the past several months members of the Youth Ministry Committee have been exploring the idea of recruiting a professional Youth Ministry Director for our congregation. We have discussed the needs that such a person might fill at St. Paul’s and met with professional youth directors from other area churches to better understand their role in a congregation
Like a number of other churches, our present youth groups are small, and though we have a larger number of youth who could be a part of the youth groups, many don't participate. Leaders of St. Paul's Youth Ministry Committee have tried different approaches to increase involvement and volunteerism of other adults with minimal success. It is incumbent upon us all to provide a dynamic youth program that will entice our young parishioners to become an integral part of our church community.
