Rev. Betsy M. Williams
Parish Minister
The Reverend Betsy M. Williams has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from Valparaiso University (Valparaiso, IN) and a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary (Columbus, OH). In addition, she has participated in a number of continuing education classes, including classes on strategic planning, the spiritual life of congregations, preaching, family systems, worship, and the pastor as writer. Pastor Betsy, as she prefers to be called, has eighteen years’ experience in ordained ministry. Prior to ordination, she served 12 years in ministry as a deaconess in calls to Cana Lutheran Church, Berkeley Michigan, and Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Columbus. As a pastor she held calls at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Lexington and Christ the King Lutheran Church in West Chester.
Most recently, she served a small church in Oxford, Ohio in a part-time capacity. Pastor Betsy is married and has a son, David, age 22 and a daughter Carys (rhymes with Paris) , age 12. Currently her husband Jim works for an internet services company and her son works in retail for a woodworking company. Both her husband and son sing in choir (bass) and her daughter sings in a youth choir in Cincinnati. Pastor Betsy says that whether she can sing depends on which family member is asked.

Parish Organist
Mattew Hummel
Matthew Hummel began as Parish Organish
at the beginning of November 2013.
He is a native of Mount Union, Pennsylvania and is a twin. His twin brother is also a church organist, as is their grandmother. Matthew studied philosophy and organ at Saint Vincent College in Labrobe, Pennsylvania. Thereafter, he studied for a Master in Business Administration degree at Point Park College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Growing up, his teacher in piano and organ for eleven years was Beverly Tilson, an organist at First United Methodist Church in Mount Union. At St. Vincent College, his instructor was the Rev. Cyprian Constantine, OBS. Matthew was music director at St. Alban's Anglican Church in Murrysville, Pennsylvania for four years. He presently works for the Wasserstrom and Sons Company in Columbus, where he is a Project Specialist.
